Course Breakdown
- 16 Hour CCW Initial Course – Good for counties listed on the affiliates page.
- Live-fire qualification to be done at the affiliates location provided within the course.
- Course will be broken down into sections containing lessons on the topic of the section.
- Student must complete each section, section quizzes, and final exam at the end of the course.
- Student may stop at any time, and come back to course at any time.
- Student will have 30 days to start, finish, and print certificate of completion.
- Certificate of completion for this course is good for 30 days.
- Certificate of completion must be presented at the affiliates location when coming to complete live-fire qualification.
- Students will not be able to reprint certificate after 30 days has expired.
The live-fire qualification must be completed in order to finish your course. You must qualify with all of the firearms you want to put on your permit. Some jurisdictions have no limits on how many guns you can list on your permit. Some jurisdictions only allow up-to a specific number of handguns. Any handgun that you want to carry, must be registered with the California DOJ to the CCW applicant, or their spouse. You may not use a firearm that was purchased outside of California and never registered with the California DOJ, or that currently belongs to another person.
